Celebrating St Piran’s Day at St George’s

Cornish Cream Tea for St Piran's Day at St Georges Care Home Truro

At St George’s, we love an excuse for a celebration, and St Piran’s Day is one of our favourites! Named after one of the patron saints of Cornwall, St Piran’s Day is the perfect chance for us all to indulge in freshly baked scones slathered with sweet jam and local clotted cream (jam first of course!)…

St George’s Care Home is located in the heart of Truro opposite Victoria Gardens. Brimming with charm and character, our handsome building once served as the rectory to St George the Martyr Church, next door. The church, a splendid example of Gothic Revival architecture, was consecrated by Bishop Phillpotts on the Feast of St Simon and St Jude in 1855. Today it hosts a sung parish mass every Sunday morning as well as regular services throughout the year.
