Here at St George’s Residential Care Home, wildlife and nature are popular interests. Our lovely garden is constantly buzzing with life, and we’ve recently been charmed by a brand-new, incredibly special addition to our family: a resident hedgehog named Harrie…
Moments of joy
Harrie made his debut a few weeks ago, turning up in a quiet, leafy corner of the grounds. He was spotted snuffling through the undergrowth, safely doing what hedgehogs do best, hunting for garden pests.
Having a wild visitor like Harrie has brought a wonderful new energy to St George’s. For many of our residents who have been passionate gardeners and wildlife lovers all their lives, he’s a most welcome guest. Discussing his nightly antics has become a favourite breakfast topic, sparking wonderful conversations and memories from other gardens in times gone by.
Catching a glimpse of Harrie as dusk falls is a real joy. It’s also a delightful reminder that no matter our age, nature can always surprise, delight, and bring us together. If you’d like to visit our friendly home for yourself, please call us on 01872 272554.
